The features of this Roman portrait share something with those of Elagabalus (emperor from 218 to 222 CE) but unlike Elagabalus who has only a moustache and sideburns this individual has a full beard and shorter hair. His hairstyle makes him more akin to the military emperors who came after, but he is probably a private individual
